How to Make Coleslaw

Coleslaw or (Slaw as it has become known) is a traditional summer side, used for BBQ's, Burgers and any number of other meals. In fact Coleslaw has become one of the most popular side dishes in history.

Coleslaw is traditionally made with Cabbage, Carrots and Onions. But it has evolved in modern times to incorporate many other ingredients.

Coleslaw is most often made with mayonnaise but can be made with yogurt as a low calorie option.

ingredients

2-3 Carrots
1 red onion
1 brown onion
1 half savoy cabbage
1 tablespoon Mayonnaise
1 tablespoon Plain yogurt
1 teaspoon mustard (optional)
pepper
Chopped up bunch of chives

Method

  1. Peel all of your vegetables , carrots , onions, cabbage and cut into manageable sizes.
  2. In a food processor, using the slicing attachment, one by one push all of the vegetables through, until you have a big bowl of sliced veg.
  3. In a mixing bowl , add all of the veg and season with some black pepper to taste.
  4. Add the mayonnaise and yogurt , mix together well.
  5. Add a handful of chopped up chives and mix it up.
