Making your own pasta is easy and cheap, you only need two ingredients and one of them is water the other is semolina. With just two ingredients you can make a batch of homemade pasta that is perfect for Tagliatelle, Lasagne or Tortellini in just a few minutes.

You will need to get yourself a Pasta Rolling Machine, but these are cheap enough to buy.

    How to Make Your Own Pasta

    Traditional authentic pasta has just two ingredients. It was originally made with just Flour & Water dating back to the 4th century B.C. Pasta is used in many different cuisines, not just Italian.

    The Japanese have been making pasta in the form of Wonton wrappers and the Chinese since 3000 B.C.

    8 oz Semolina (Durum Wheat)
    110 ml Water

    Cooking Instructions

      This pasta has only two ingredients and it tastes fantastic. If you buy any dry pasta in the supermarket it is going to be made this way.
    1. Measure out the Semolina into a large mixing bowl.
    2. You are going to need 55 ml of cold water to every 4 oz of semolina, so if you want to make half this quantity then its 4 oz semolina to 55 ml of water.
    3. Mix in the water with a fork until combined, and it forms lumps in the semolina.
    4. Then with your hands form the mixture into a ball of pasta dough by squeezing it together in your hands until it binds together.
    5. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and start to knead.
    6. Press the dough with the palm of your hand, then fold it and repeat the process.
    7. Knead on a floured surface for about 5 - 10 minutes until smooth.
    8. Set up your pasta machine, then I always rub some olive oil over the rollers and surfaces just to stop the pasta sticking.
    9. Once you have your pasta dough made you can roll it with a pasta machine into Pasta Sheets, Tagliatelle or any number of other pasta shapes.
    Chefs Tips

    With just two ingredients, this pasta is Vegan friendly as there is no egg in it.

    You can add Pesto to this pasta mix for a Pasta Verde.
